Job purpose The employee on this position put big foam buns in a saw machine to be reduced to a smaller pieces.
First, he is being helped by another employee to move the foam buns (weighing 400 pounds each) close to the saw, they do not lift the bun, they just push it on the floor and then to the saw table, then he/she turn on the saw and starts reducing the material according to the required measurements for the day.
Duties and responsibilities Transfer the foam buns from the storage area close to the saw.
Turn on the saw machine and start feeding the saw.
When the bun is reduced, he loads again the saw with a new bun from the storage area.
Turn off the saw at breaks, lunch time and end of the shift.
Report any mechanical issues or safety problems to his supervisor.
Qualifications The employee on this position should be able to lift medium loads (up to 50 pounds).
PPE-Safety gear must be used (safety glasses, gloves).
No education requirements; must be able to read and write.
Experienced for this position is preferred.
Working conditions Working conditions are the normal found in a foam processing plant, ventilated indoor areas; gloves and safety glasses are required.
This job is performed mainly at 1st.
shift from Monday through Friday.
Physical requirements The operator should be standing performing this job close to the saw; there are 15 minute breaks that are taken as long as the operator needs.
There are no repetitive movements and or long walking distances.
